HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
Marketing. We may contact you with promotions we think might interest you, as part of our market research, either by mail, telephone or email.
Third Party Marketing. If you actively opt in to promotional mail from third party brands, we will share your postal address with Epsilon Abacus (registered as Epsilon International UK Ltd), company that manages the Abacus Alliance on behalf of UK retailers, and you may receive mail from other brands in the Abacus Aliance. The participating retailers are active in the following product categories: clothing, collectables, food & wine, gardening, gadgets & entertainment, health & beauty, household goods, and home interiors. They share information on what their customers buy. Epsilon Abacus analyses this pooled information to help retailers understand consumers’ wider buying patterns. From this information, retailers can tailor their communications, sending people suitable offers that should be of interest to them, based on what they like to buy.
Telephone Calls. We may randomly monitor and record your calls. This helps to ensure that we provide you with the highest level of service and maintain quality standards. We may also pass information about you to agents, service providers and employees to carry out services. In the course of providing such services, we may transfer your personal information outside the European Economic Area. We will employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal information where this is the case.
HOW AND WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. We take the security of your personal data very seriously. In particular we use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect your personal data. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and so we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through the Website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Please note that Epsilon Abacus may transfer data outside the EEA. The transfer will take place in the presence of appropriate safeguards, including standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission. If you would like more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
HOW YOU CAN CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION
To update the information retained about you, please contact us via the details below.
To protect your privacy and security, we will also verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
If you do not want us to use your information for third party marketing purposes, or if you wish to adjust any other preferences please contact us at the email address below. In selecting to opt out of third party activity we will ensure all channels of communication, post, email, telephone and SMS (text), are opted out unless you specify otherwise.
Our communications are designed to tell you about the benefits we can offer so that you have access to our best deals. We use the information we have about you to tailor the content and try to ensure that the offers are as relevant to you as possible. Under the Data Protection Legislation, this might qualify as profiling. If you do not wish us to use your data for this purpose, please email us at email@example.com.
OPTING OUT OF ALL THIRD PARTY MAIL ADVERTISING
The most effective way to receive less advertising mail at home is to use the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA’s) Mailing Preference Service. Through this service, you can choose to stop all future direct mail entirely. All of our third party companies are registered as a DMA member, as members they subscribe to and suppress any name and address on the DMA’s Mailing Preference Service file from its direct mail marketing lists. The simplest way to register is online at www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/ or call 0845 703 4599 to request an application form.
OUR EMAIL AND SMS POLICIES
We will ask for your email address and/or mobile telephone number so that we can send you an email confirming your order and so that we may send you additional marketing information through emails and SMS. If you currently receive emails and SMS or any other electronic communications from us and no longer wish to receive them, you can follow the 'unsubscribe' link or instructions located near the bottom of every message.
If our site is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners and you will be notified.
